We’re fast approaching many knitters favorite season! The days of a little cooler weather, shorter days, pumpkin and eggnog lattes, and hunkering inside with our yarn and needles. Does that not sound like absolute heaven? Light a little candle, put an audiobook or music playing, and pick out a new pattern to set the mood. Our time is here.

    1. The Tara Ruffled Cardigan

The Tara ruffled cardigan knitting pattern is one that I’ve actually been getting quite a few requests to knit and sell. Most of you who know me, know I don’t typically do that as my knitting time is limited. The Tara cardigan is so versatile and levels up any outfit you’re wearing. Jeans, athleisure, dresses, it works for it all. I honestly would love to have it in more colors!

The Sweet as Sprinkles sweater is super lightweight (as long as you use the same yarn), cozy, and versatile. It’s that sweater that’s going to work for the cooler mornings and evenings, adding a little class to your outfit. Since this pattern is also so nice and basic, it’s easy to adapt to your liking by adding stripes, colorblock, or whatever suits your personal style.

    Sweet as Sprinkles Sweater

Introducing the Sweet as Sprinkles sweater design! You’re going to love the ease of wear, ease of knitting, ease of movement. This sweater has a cozy drape made by using size 12mm needles and a basic stitch. The Sweet as Sprinkles sweater will be there for you year round.

I used Sandnes Garn Poppy in the color called tutti frutti. It. is. gorgeous. There are no words for how much I enjoyed knitting with this yarn. And they have many colors of it, so that’s a plus! But I recommend the tutti frutti because it looks like a funfetti cupcake and will make you happy ❤️.

This pattern uses basic knitting skills, nothing complicated. You’ll need to know the longtail cast on method, 1×1 twisted ribbing, stockinette stitch, bind off, picking up stitches, and seaming.

For the sweater itself, you’ll need 6 skeins of sandnes garn yarn and sizes 8mm (US 11) and 12mm (US 17) straight knitting needles.

  • Tara Cardigan Design

    Tara Cardigan Design

Yarn – 7 skeins Wool and the Gang alpachino merino in the color ivory.

Needles- Size 12mm (US 17) straight needles.

    Knitting Level- Easy

The Tara cardigan is knit using a super soft alpachino merino wool from Wool and the Gang. Using my classic method of larger needles than the recommended, the softness of this piece is extraordinary. Really, you’re just going to want to squish it. And feel free to do so.

This cardigan is knit flat using size 12mm or US 17 straight needles. I’m often asked where my needles are from, and they’re all Wool and the Gang or We Are Knitters. I love their needles! I’ve had them for many years and haven’t had any issues.

The skills used are basic. You’ll need to know the longtail cast on, stockinette stitch, 1×1 twisted rib, increases (for the sleeves and ruffle), bind off, and picking up stitches.
