    Summer Sweater Favorites

My favorite season of all time is basically right upon us! Honestly, not many really correlate summer and knitting. Knitting is more cozy, hunkered in, cool weather vibes. I tend to love the summer knitting and knitwear. There’s something so cute about a knit tank or a knit cardigan to wear on those summer mornings and evenings. Plus, these knitwear pieces don’t take too long to do! Unless of course you’re going for a larger cotton knit. But it’s always worth it. I love a good cotton sweater over wool!

The summer daisy sweater will forever be one of my favorites. It’s oversized and uses basic knitting stitches, fun color work, and the little flowers are my favorite!

The bring me coffee cardi is absolutely perfect for your summer morning coffee runs or enjoying a coffee on the porch in the evenings! It’s another one that’s fast to work up and is lightweight and breathable with the open stitch work.

The Inez summer sweater is one of my best selling patterns! This sweater I designed and knit right after my dad passed away and it holds a moment in time where I needed something fun and colorful. It’s one of my designs that I really would like to find time to knit another of!

The peachy sunsets tee is what you need for a more laid back and simple style when you want to wear a graphic tee but need a bit more polishing. Your perfect companion for pairing with some denim shorts and browsing the farmers markets!

The Freya summer sweater was a design I did for a collaboration with hobbii yarn and is another favorite! This yarn is super light so it makes it perfect for a summer piece. The open shoulders and mesh stitch also add a little fun to the overall vibe.

Summer is when most of the amazing adventures happen, the most beautiful photos taken, the best sunsets and travels, and you need to have some summer knitwear to top it off. It is so much more than just a piece of clothing. It holds memories. Memories from when you knit it, memories from when you wore it. Make it count.

  • The Millie Crop Vest Design

    The Millie Crop Vest Design

Happy November! The season of the chunky knits is going strong. I love it. I love having a new piece in a few days time. I love having more time for all the things I love. This time of year gets busy and chaotic, but it really is also filled with so much sparkle and magic.

Speaking of sparkle, I am really having this glittery moment. My last design, the glitter era pullover (speaks for itself) and now this one. This started out to be a very simple, basic design. After I took all of the photos for the pattern, I was looking back at them and just couldn’t find the “ah I’m so excited!” moment that I look for.

So I looked at it for a bit and figured it could do with some color across the front. That turned out to be the perfect idea. I had some extra sparkly tinsel yarn leftover from years ago, and wound that around some scrap of “the wool” from We Are Knitters, and there it was born. It got the color and the sparkle. I love it.

This is, again, an easy pattern. Beginners can do it! You’re only going to be working with some 1×1 twisted ribbing and stockinette stitch. A little bit of picking up stitches, a little bit of half duplicate stitch (I actually don’t know if that’s even a thing, but it’s literally what I did for the front) and that’s it!

Make it your own! You can leave it a solid color, work stripes into it, do stripes and the half duplicate stitch, whatever your heart desires. You got this! Have fun with it!
