    Jewel Of Fall Pullover Sweater

    One of my top favorite things this year is the jewel color tones. I am obsessed! The bluish greens, dark reds, pinks, ivory. And fall is such a good season for these colors. They create a real dramatic mood enhancing all the cozy feels. I’m hoping to incorporate a lot of them into my home decor and paint colors for this coming season!

    This design features many of the jewel tone colors, plus three different textured yarns, held together to create one of the most luxurious feeling knits. This piece is knit using all yarns from We Are Knitters. I used the Bling Bling Yarn, the cotton, and the petite wool.

    This sweater is a design that is beginner friendly. Like always, I keep my designs easy enough that most beginners can do them. Some may have a tiny bit of challenge for you, but you definitely will have no problem!

    Materials Needed

    5 skeins We Are Knitters “the petite wool” or similar chunky weight yarn 

    2 skeins We Are Knitters “bling bling yarn”  for body panels 

    1 skein bling bling yarn for sleeves 

    6 skeins We Are Knitters “the cotton” or similar yarn 

    Size 12mm (US 17) straight knitting needles

    Darning needle for seaming 

    Colors I used 

    Body Panels- petite wool in natural 

    Bling bling yarn in natural

    Cotton colors, bottom to top: copper, blush (I used dusty rose in the easy breezy yarn, but that’s out of stock) teal, lilac, canyon rose, mustard 

    Sleeves- same as body panels except the bling bling yarn was navy 

    Finished Measurements 

    Length- 17”

    Width- 30”

    Sleeve Length- 16.5”

    Gauge

    8 stitches in stockinette and 13 rows in stockinette/moss in 4”

  • The Vivian Crop Summer Sweater

    Happy July! I feel like this summer is just cruising on by! We had our last snowstorm the end of April so it feels like winter has only just finished up. But thank goodness. I am throughly enjoying all the lovely warm days!

    I’m so excited to have this new design out! I was looking to make something quick, who wants to spend all summer knitting a summer sweater, and this piece fits the bill! It’s knit with 12mm knitting needles to make for a faster and lightweight piece. Summer evenings are the perfect time to enjoy a light sweater!

    I am all about the oversized fit. This piece has oversized written all over it. Besides it being a crop length :). The sleeves start with ribbing on the cuffs and continuously get wider all the way until the bind off. This gives them a cozy and voluminous fit. The body is wide and boxy, wear it over anything!

    I added a little bit of duplicate stitches using the cuff coloring to make a fun little addition to the design. Kind of a bit of pop! If you’re not too into duplicate stitching, you can definitely skip it. But I recommend!

    I used two different sized yarns for this as I had two skeins sitting around foreeeever that I wanted to use. But you can definitely just use all the same size petite wool from We Are Knitters that I used. The lighter yarn I used was Plymouth Yarns Merino wool, which is really pretty!

    This is an easy knit and suitable for beginner knitters who have the basic skills down, as well as picking up stitches (for the neckline) and a twisted ribbing. I have had people ask if they can use a regular ribbing instead and the answer is of course! I just prefer the look of the twisted.

  • The Freya Summer Sweater Design for Hobbii

    I had the privilege of designing a sweater for Hobbii Yarn this spring and the pattern has now been released! It was designed for their Hobbii Plus app and is available in several different languages. If you’re a subscriber of Hobbii Plus, the download is free.     I designed this sweater to be a fun and easy knit for summer. It’s got some mesh stitching to let in a bit of breeze and is knit on larger needles for a more lightweight feel. There’s fun openings on the shoulders and little tie strings to add a little more fun to it!

    This sweater is meant to be a shorter and loose fit. It’s knit holding two strands of Hobbiis beautiful unicorn yarn together. I used a solid ivory for one strand and the colorway called Happy for the other strand.

    This is an easy knit and can be done by most levels of knitters. If you’re very new, you might have to google a few of the techniques, but they’re easy to catch on to. You shouldn’t have any problems!
