    The Lost Road Trip Cardigan

I finished up another design last weekend using my “yarnicorn” yarn from We Are Knitters! Right when I had the idea to do a distressed lived in style cardigan, I knew it was going to be a love it or hate it. I love distressing, whether it’s jeans, sweaters, hoodies, anything! It always makes for a cozy vibe. But rumor has it, I didn’t see them, my sister told me there were some not so nice comments on the IG post when We Are Knitters shared it. 😂

This cardigan used 5 skeins of We Are Knitters wool, and is knit on sizes 15mm and 25mm needles! I love using the 25mm needles with big wool as it shows it off and gives it a softer texture.

I’m in love with the colors of this yarn. It’s one of those things that you just sit and stare at and marvel at the beautiful colors. They’re so good.

When I was knitting this sweater, the images that crossed my mind were of an early morning, colored skies, coffee, and on the road to somewhere new. Anywhere. Just to get away. The Lost Road Trip Cardigan seemed to be the perfect name.

  • The Wild Love Bomber Cardi Pattern

The Wild Love Bomber Cardi Pattern

My latest design, the Wild Love Bomber Cardi Pattern. This design is made using Wool and the Gangs shiny happy cotton, an Aran/worsted weight yarn, and size 5mm straight knitting needles.

The majority of this sweater is an easy knit and knit flat in five separate pieces. The back, two front panels, and the sleeves. After completing the knitting, the sweater is seamed up using the invisible horizontal and vertical seaming methods. The stitches used include 1×1 twisted ribbing, stockinette stitch, and garter stitch. The sleeves have increases, which are very easy to do once you have gotten the hang of it.

The only thing that I wouldn’t consider so easy, is the picking up stitches for the edging on the front and creating the button holes. The pattern does include the link where I learned to create the buttonholes if further assistance is needed.

The fit style of the Wild Love Bomber Cardi is a relaxed, cozy, and slightly oversized feel. Perfect for layering over a tank or tee, any season. I am loving the retro style vibes of it! I had a photo of my dad from when he was probably in his 20’s tucked in my notebook and it must have kind of influenced the vibe. ❤️

The pattern for this cardigan is available in my Etsy shop, by going to the Shop link in the Menu above.

  • The Jenna Jumper Pattern

    The Jenna Jumper Pattern

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve and day. We hung out at home. My husband and the kids were asleep at 9 on New Year’s Eve, so I rang in the new year by myself! Today I finished up my new pattern, the Jenna Jumper.

I decided last minute to add a butterfly using duplicate stitch! Haha, honestly it’s a mix between kind of funny and kind of fun. It doesn’t look too much like a butterfly unless you kind of squint and glance at it.😂

The Jenna Jumper is basically an oversized knit tee/vest. It’s got some mesh stitch, stockinette stitch, and twisted ribbing. So basic, yet has a unique flair to it! I’m super excited to pair it over tees for the spring. You know when it’s the temperature where you don’t know whether you should be wearing a sweater or a tee. Or when the temp changes 60 degrees throughout the day!

If you decide to knit this, you do not need to add the butterfly. The mesh stitch is more visible without it and that turns out to be the main viewpoint. But if you’re feeling creative and want to give it a go, design your own fun butterfly and make sure you send me a pic! I’d love to see it!

Hope you enjoyed and I wish you a wonderful new year!
