    Design | The Leslie Sweater

September’s pattern is the Leslie Sweater. Named after my dad. This sweater is a mix between menswear and chic, classy, and casual. I can see this being worn with leggings, skinny jeans, or even a skirt. It’s oversized, it drapes, it stays in place. Basically, it covers all bases.

The Leslie Sweater is not hard to knit. I have done a few patterns from yarn companies rated easy, and they were harder than this one. You’ve got to have the basic knitting skills down, make one increase, knit two together decrease, and picking up stitches. That’s all there is to it.

The cotton yarn I used for the Leslie Sweater is shiny happy cotton from Wool and the Gang. We Are Knitters “the cotton” is a lighter cotton, but will otherwise knit up the same result. Another cotton yarn I have seen many use is Paintbox Yarns cotton. I haven’t used that before, so I’m not exactly sure how it turns out, but others love it and it works with my cotton knitting patterns.

I think overall, the Leslie Sweater is my all time current favorite. My daily outfit usually consists of skinny jeans or leggings and sweatshirts, and this sweater has all the comfort of my favorite sweatshirts. It’s going to get a lot of loving!

Design | The Winter Blues Pullover Sweater

The Winter Blues Pullover Sweater was the first sweater I ever designed. It made me so happy because it was literally exactly what I had imagined it to be. Super soft, oversized, cozy, and it didn’t take a million years to knit.

Winter Blues Pullover Sweater in Cream

This sweater takes 5 skeins of Wool and the Gangs Crazy Sexy Wool (6 if you want to make the matching neck warmer) or similar yarn. Then you will need a pair of size 25mm knitting needles, the huge ones, and you’re good to go!

Winter Blues Pullover Sweater in Blue

I have had many people mention to me that the Winter Blues Pullover Sweater was their first sweater they knit. It made me incredibly pleased to hear that they had no difficulties and the pattern was easy for them to follow. There’s nothing worse than being a beginner knitter and trying out a “easy” pattern and having it be confusing. Been there done that.

The pattern also includes a matching neck warmer if you want a little extra cozy! The skills you’re going to need to knit this sweater are: casting on, knitting in stockinette stitch, increasing, binding off, and seaming.

Design | The Inez Summer Sweater

The Inez Summer Sweater is by far my new favorite summer knit! This design is comfortable and has an open breezy stitch work, perfect for the summer season.

This sweater consists of four pieces total. You will first knit the two body panels, and then the two sleeve pieces. Because of the open stitch work, it is a fairly fast knit as well!

The yarn I chose for this sweater is Wool and the Gangs shiny happy cotton. The main color I used is ivory and the accent colors are chalk yellow, malibu, and coral crush. They remind me so much of the colorful, happy things of summer!

This pattern is a one size oversized fit! If you would like to make it bigger, I’d recommend adding one additional repeat section for a medium and two additional repeat sections for a large.
