    After Christmas Sale on NOW!

I hope everybody had a super wonderful and merry Christmas! As I only have a few weeks left of this pregnancy, we decided to stay at home this year and enjoy Christmas with just our family. Unfortunately we did also have a couple sick kids, which is such a bummer. Really, the only couple days of the year where you really would rather not be sick! I’m really crossing my fingers that this is their last illness of the season.

The season of sales is almost over and this will be my last big sale for a while! All patterns, including bundles, are currently 25% off through the 28th. Then I have another exciting thing happening, so you will want to stay tuned for that!

My patterns are all fairly easy and I’ve had many levels of knitters knit them. But I do get frequently asked what I would recommend personally as a first sweater for the newest of new knitters.

My top picks for all of you new knitters joining us are :

    The Winter Blues Sweater

Skills needed: Casting on, 2×2 ribbing, stockinette stitch, make one stitch, bind off, seaming

    The Kels Marie Pullover

Skills Needed: Casting on, twisted rib, yarn over and knit two stitches together (just for edges) make one stitch, bind off, seaming

    The Cropped Striped Winter Sweater

Skills Needed: Casting on, twisted rib, stockinette stitch, changing colors, make a new stitch, bind off, seaming

    The Candy Hearts Sweater

Skills Needed: casting on, stockinette stitch, garter stitch, twisted ribbing, yarn over and knit two stitches together (just for accent on sleeve cuffs) bind off, seaming, duplicate stitch (for “hearts”)

I try to be available for help as needed for my knitters out there. So please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any assistance. I do have five children though so I might not always get back to you immediately, but I try!

I wish you all the happiest final days of 2021!

    Love, Bethany

    Christmas 🎄 Sweater Vibes

Christmas is almost here! Just a couple more days! I am so excited. My kids are so excited. It’s just been non stop excitement this week. Every morning the kids have jumped out of bed with the announcement of how many days until Christmas. And I’m feeling relieved that all the gifts are bought, wrapped, and under the tree. Everything’s in order. We just need to find some fun Christmassy things to do for the next couple days until it’s the day. Tomorrow we have cake pop making on the agenda, so there’s that! I told them we’d order pizza for dinner and then go do the towns Christmas lights drive. So it’s looking pretty eventful.

I took a few snaps in one of my Christmas sweaters today! This one is really one of my favs. It was my first time using loopy mango big cotton yarn, and it is amazing. So so soft. The pattern for this and my two other Christmas sweaters are 50% off in my Etsy shop right now, through Christmas Eve, so get them while you can!

This sweater is a fairly easy knit, beginners can do it! And using larger needles, like most of my winter knits, it will work up in a jiffy. Satisfying! Grab yourself a coffee, a treat, and get to it! Always make the whole process fun!

    Have a blessed Christmas!

    The Winter Colors Scarf Pattern

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I knit this scarf up over the past week and had so much fun doing it! When I first started knitting, I was really into knitting little mini blankets decorated with pom poms and fringe. I knit so so many of them! But they were basically useless. I didn’t need piles of mini blankets. That’s when I decided to venture a little further into knitting sweaters.

I didn’t want to do a standard stockinette or garter stitch for this piece, so decided to go with a mesh stitch. It’s still nice and warm, but just has a little extra pizazz. Which I like doing for scarves. And I guess my sweaters as well! 😂

This scarf is also, as I like all my knits to be, oversized! There’s just something about knitwear to me that just says, must be oversized. I cannot wear sweaters or scarves that aren’t oversized. Comfort and cozy is key. As well as easy to wear and a little color poppin!

These little extra details were probably my favorite part to do of all! I still had some extra disco down yarn from wool and the gang hanging around. That stuff is so pretty. It’s basically just a really sparkly thin tinsel yarn. I held it together with the wool to make the fringe and love how it just adds a perfect amount of sparkle here and there. I’m all for glitter and gold.

And the pom poms! I can’t believe I’ve never before thought to mix strands of yarn to make them have a tie dye effect! I absolutely love how they turned out. It’s opened up a whole new world of ideas for future projects in my head. Just thinking of the fun colors I could mix. So happy with it!

The pattern for this cozy oversized colorful happy vibes scarf is available in my Etsy shop by clicking on the shop button in the menu above!
