    Happy Saturday!

Hey guys! I hope everyone is having a super fabulous awesome weekend! This week has been so hectic and crazy for me, between my car breaking down and trying to find ways to get from point a to b, to just regular life! Car troubles are the worst! I feel like I should always have a backup vehicle for when things like this happen. But I know one way or another, things will work out! Not going to stress about it.

I decided to throw a little weekend sale through tomorrow evening! All patterns in my shop are currently 25% off, so go scoop them up while you can!

I’m working on a new spring design here! It took me a week to get a grip on an idea for it. When I’m using multiple yarn colors, I have so many ideas in my head that I sit here forever tossing them all over until I can finally settle on one. And then when I start knitting it, it changes a few more times. 😂 I love it. I’m trying to use a majority of one color because of the fact that We Are Knitters and probably other yarn companies as well, are out of stock in quite a few of their yarns. But you know me, it’s definitely going to have a little color.

This is the color line up for this design. It will mainly be this natural shade of cotton from We Are Knitters, which I have ten of. Then I have a few fun tropical colors to accent it. I’m so happy I’ve been stocking up on cotton yarn for the past couple years because now I have quite a few random colors.

I’m so so happy spring is coming. Nothing quite lifts the mood like sunshine, warm weather, flowers, and being outdoors. I’m trying to plan a couple sweaters for my florida trip in April. This current project will be one of them, and then I want to do one more. Maybe a completely solid basic one. Much as I love lots of color and fun designs, one good go with everything sweater is a must! I’ll keep you all updated.😊

    Have a happy weekend!

  • The Kels Marie Sweater

    The Kels Marie Sweater

Spring is coming! Happy days. I decided to do one last oversized chunky knit to end the winter season. I’m not sad about winter leaving, but knitting these super fast knits on big needles was a big upside to winter. The Kels Marie sweater took about eight hours to knit! When you’re short on time, but really really need a new sweater, this is how you do it. Grab your big needles, 25mm (US 50), some big super chunky weight yarn, and get busy!

The Kels Marie sweater uses six skeins of We Are Knitters “the wool”. This colorway, called neon marshmallow, is currently out of stock last I checked. I’m not sure if they have a waiting list for it right now or not, but it’s worth checking and signing up for! It’s literally a dream come true and you do need it in your life.

This sweater is fairly easy to knit. The ribbing is a basic twisted rib. Which, if you’re not familiar with, is knitting and purling through the back loops. It’s super easy and gives it a pretty braided look. I always always use twisted rib! After the ribbing comes a little bit of mesh stitch, or holey stitch, I’ve seen it called a few different things. Then the remainder is knit in your basic stockinette stitch! Nothing complicated. The sleeves have a few increases, and that’s about it! A beginner knitter can knit this sweater. 😊

This sweater just gives me all the happy vibes. And you know we all need as many of those as we can get.

  • The Lost Road Trip Cardigan

    The Lost Road Trip Cardigan

I finished up another design last weekend using my “yarnicorn” yarn from We Are Knitters! Right when I had the idea to do a distressed lived in style cardigan, I knew it was going to be a love it or hate it. I love distressing, whether it’s jeans, sweaters, hoodies, anything! It always makes for a cozy vibe. But rumor has it, I didn’t see them, my sister told me there were some not so nice comments on the IG post when We Are Knitters shared it. 😂

This cardigan used 5 skeins of We Are Knitters wool, and is knit on sizes 15mm and 25mm needles! I love using the 25mm needles with big wool as it shows it off and gives it a softer texture.

I’m in love with the colors of this yarn. It’s one of those things that you just sit and stare at and marvel at the beautiful colors. They’re so good.

When I was knitting this sweater, the images that crossed my mind were of an early morning, colored skies, coffee, and on the road to somewhere new. Anywhere. Just to get away. The Lost Road Trip Cardigan seemed to be the perfect name.
