The Williston summer cardigan

My new summer cardigan pattern has just been released! This was such a fun cardigan to design and even knit. I didn’t have too much knitting time in the past month, so I could have finished it a lot sooner. But I’m so happy with the way it turned out!

It’s a basic knitted piece, but I added a bunch of extra cute things to make it a little more unique. I had so many cotton yarn skeins laying around and I just love all the colors together, so I figured I’d put them to use. I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result!

The skills you’re going to need for this piece are fairly basic. I’d say if you’re an advanced beginner, you’ll do just fine. You’ll need to know the longtail cast on, stockinette stitch, 1×1 twisted ribbing, making a new stitch, yarn over, knit two stitches together, bind off, picking up stitches, and seaming. If you don’t know a few, you’ll still be good! They’re fairly easy to learn.

Being this piece is knit in cotton, it’s lightweight and breathable. It’s perfect for the summer mornings and evenings when you need to throw on an extra layer for a little bit!

You’ll need 8 skeins of We Are Knitters “the cotton” or a similar worsted/aran weight yarn. I used maybe half of each skein! It doesn’t take much. Needle sizes required are a 5mm (US 8) and a 6.5mm (US 10.5). You could use just the 6.5 if needed. I used the 5mm just for ribbing on the body pieces.

The pattern can be purchased by clicking the shop link above! I hope you enjoy!
