    The Celestial Sunrise Sweater

Hey guys! Can you believe it’s already March? We are getting so so close to spring, it’s wonderful. I’m more excited than ever for some nice warm weather! Enjoying my iced coffees out on the porch, wearing sandals, ugh it’s going to be amazing!

I’ve really been loving everything astrological lately. What with all the northern lights, shooting stars, comets. The galaxy blows my mind. I got some petite wool from We Are Knitters recently in this colorway called “hand painted”, and it immediately reminded me of all the celestial colors.

This sweater follows along with all my other sweater vibes. Oversized, cozy, and colorful. I just can’t stray away from it! If you’ve followed me for awhile, you know I’ve tried. I’ll set out on a piece like, this is going to be one color and basic. It always changes en route. 😂

Whenever I’m working on a piece, I hold it up to myself as I go to see if I’m getting the length I’m going for right. I recommend doing that if you’re going to be adjusting the length more to your preference. Everybody has a different length they like and I try to keep my patterns easy enough that it’s simply adding or deducting rows to your liking.

This one is a perfect length where it’s not too short, but not too long. I like how I can lift my arms and have no midriff showing! If it’s a more casual sweater, I can wear it whilst doing everyday errands, cleaning, taking care of kids, etc.

I also changed it up a bit and didn’t do any ribbing on the wrists. I wanted it to be a more flowy and open feel. It’s a style I’m kind of liking right now! I just added a bit of detail at the wrists so there’s an extra pop!

This sweater is definitely easy enough for you beginners, or a fun projects for anyone else! I used a size 12mm needle with the petite wool, which gives it a softer more lightweight feel. With wool, I like to go bigger than the recommended size needles for the yarn. This way, you notice the softness and bounce.

For this sweater, you’ll need your 12mm (US 15) straight needles, 6 skeins of the petite wool or any chunky weight yarn, and your darning needle for weaving in ends. It’s a quick knit and the perfect piece to get your spring started off with a bang!

  • The Nova Shawl Sweater

Hey guys! Last weekend I released a new design, just in time for these cold wintery days coming up! We already had our first snowfall last week and it was a doozy. We had drifts in our front halfway up the porch. I even shoveled the walk! Honestly our last storm was at the end of April and it feels so recent that it seemed completely normal for it to be snowing again. It was melted within a couple days and we now have green grass again though. And I’m planning to completely enjoy it while I can!

I live in yoga pants. Like live in them. There are days I put on jeans if I’m running out or if I’m traveling, but at home, yoga pants. And I wanted a piece that I could wear with them easily. The idea of a shawl came to mind.

The nova shawl is knit in one long piece on a set of 15mm straight knitting needles. Any beginner knitter won’t have a problem doing this one! It uses basic stitches and I added a fun little design to the sleeves to mix things up! Still just using your basic knit and purl stitch.

I love how cozy it is! And easy enough to just throw over my workout outfit in the morning. Plus it can be styled for a fancy outfit. Fancy meaning like jeans and a nice top. Haha. Or if you want to get even fancier, wear it with a dress! But you get my point, it’s such a versatile wear.

I used “the wool” from We Are Knitters for this project, because it’s my absolute favorite. I’d love to knit this piece again in another color! They have too many gorgeous shades, but this one’s perfect for matching with just about anything.

This pattern is available in my Etsy shop, by clicking the shop link in the menu above! Hope you enjoy! And don’t forget to share your finished shawl with me when you’re done!

  • The Fall Play date toddler Cardigan

Another new arrival for toddlers! The fall play date hooded cardigan! With ears to boot. My daughter wanted a cardigan that would make her be a cat, so that’s what she got! 😂 I’m so happy with how it turned out and she was beyond ecstatic!

I used We Are Knitters petite wool for this cardigan. It’s got a mix of garter stitch and stockinette, with a little 1×1 twisted ribbing for the cuffs and the finishing trim.

Its got a cozy oversized slouchy feel. That way she can throw it on over a long sleeve and it won’t be too tight or restricting of movement. She can crawl around like a cat with no problem!

The hood is perfectly sized where it won’t drape over her eyes or fall down from being too big. Hoods are a bit of trial and error to get sizing right, so I’m happy this worked out!

    Happy fall knitting!
