Super cropped, garter stitch, big sleeves, big needles, big wool, double wrap braided belt. This is the Merry and Bright cardigan design.
We Are Knitters recently launched some new yarn colors for “the wool”. I was pretty excited to snatch up some for my first chunky design of the season. I’m really feeling the red vibes lately and figured that would make a cute piece. Also, a rare moment where I designed a sweater using just one solid color. This does not happen often!
This is a super quick and easy cardigan to knit up. Beginner knitter level. Everyone can knit this one! You guys know I love the big needles to make the softness of these yarns pop. This is the first time I’ve used them for garter stitch and it gave such a fabulous finished piece!
Winter arrived a bit early for us. We crazily received a foot of snow the week before Halloween! I can’t remember the last time we had that much snow this early in the year. I’ve got mixed feelings about that tbh. But, I know the time is going to fly by fast and I love the whole Christmas season, so I think I’ll get through!
The winter season brings the best season for knitwear. And toddlers needn’t be left out! My little girls love their knits and it’s so fun to design pieces that are fairly quick to be on and off the needles.
The ice Princess sweater is suitable for beginner knitters and requires just the basic knitting skills, as well as picking up stitches.
I used We Are Knitters petite wool held together with the We Are Knitters bling bling yarn, which is a soft thin wool. It adds a much softer feel than the petite wool alone.
This piece requires three different sized needles. The 6.5mm, 8mm, and 12mm. You can use circular in place of the straights if you knit with them as if they are straights. You could also get away with not using the 6.5 if you don’t happen to have them.
The ice Princess pullover is also easily customizable for you to create in a variety of sizes. My toddler wears a 2t and that’s what the original size is for. I added a few notes to the pattern for a size up or size down. It’s as simple as just adding/deducting stitches and rows.
This sweater looks adorable paired with jeans for a classier look, or thrown on with a pair of leggings for everyday adventuring!
One of my top favorite things this year is the jewel color tones. I am obsessed! The bluish greens, dark reds, pinks, ivory. And fall is such a good season for these colors. They create a real dramatic mood enhancing all the cozy feels. I’m hoping to incorporate a lot of them into my home decor and paint colors for this coming season!
This design features many of the jewel tone colors, plus three different textured yarns, held together to create one of the most luxurious feeling knits. This piece is knit using all yarns from We Are Knitters. I used the Bling Bling Yarn, the cotton, and the petite wool.
This sweater is a design that is beginner friendly. Like always, I keep my designs easy enough that most beginners can do them. Some may have a tiny bit of challenge for you, but you definitely will have no problem!
